On motion of Mr Boutelle, Ordered, that Messrs. Boutelle Scammon and Hunton be a Committee with such as the House may join to enquire into the expediency of raising the salaries of the Judge of Probate and Register of Probate for the County of Kennebec. Read and passed; Sent down for concurrence. Concurred and the Delegation from the County of Kennebec joined.

Order from the House, instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to enquire into the expediency of altering or extending an Act entitled an Act regulating Drains and Common Sewers and report by Bill or otherwise. Read and passed in concurrence.

Order from the House directing the joint Standing Committee on Manufactures, to enquire into the expediency of providing by law for the prevention of frauds in the sale of oil. Read and passed in concurrence

The petition of Jacob Clark and another, for money to be refunded, paid by them to the State Agent. Read and referred to the joint Standing Committee on Claims on concurrence.

Mr Davee from the joint Standing Committee on Incorporation of Towns, reported leave to withdraw on the petition of Ira Crocker and others. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence
