Bill to encourage literature & the useful arts & sciences came from the Senate passed to be engrossed as amended on sheet annexed marked II for concurrence - & the House adopt the amendments of the Senate - further amend the Bill as on sheet annexed marked X - & then indefinitely postpone the same and Mr. Smith of Portland gave notice that he should tomorrow move for a reconsideration of this vote - This vote was taken by yeas & nays as follows - yeas 74. nays 30. (see page 484)

The Committee on Engrossed Bills report as duly engrossed Bill to incorporate the Proprietors of Bethel Bridge - to incorporate the Titcomb Belgrade Academy - which were severally passed to be Enacted sent up for concurrence

Ordered that the Committee on Accounts be required to make a report as soon as may be - sent up for concurrence

Mr. Lord of Lebanon has leave of absence after Thursday next
