The Convention was called to order by Mr. Cushman of Winslow and Mr. Jarvis of Ellsworth was requested to officiate as Chairman.

A Committee was appointed to examine the credentials of Members and ascertain if a quorum be present, who attended to the duty assigned them, and reported in the affirmative.

A Message was sent to the Governor informing him that a quorum of the House were assembled and requesting his attendance forthwith in the Representatives Hall to qualify the Representatives elect to enter upon the discharge of their official duties.
