    May 12    We are stoping at Winchester to day to git our horses Shod. for they are all bare foot. I have had a fine chance to go over the city an see it. I went out to the grave yard. and saw where our Soldiers was buried that was killed in the battle of Winchester. they are buried in good shape and have got their names. their rigement. and thier company. put on a board at their heads to tell where they lay.   I wrote a letter home to day.   4 oclock P.M. there has just been some rebel prisoners broght in and put in Jail. I saw them put in. I am on guard to night

    May 13th
    We are still at Winchester and are going to stop to day I came off guard at 2 oclock P.M.
         May 14th
    It rain's to day and we are still at Winchester and are not going to move till to morrow.
         May 15
    We left Winchester to day at 2 oclock P.M. and came to Strasburg. abought 19 miles from Winchester. we camped on the ground without eny tents. it rained all night we are abought 1 mile from the village of Strasburg.
