Mr. Groton from the Committee on Claims reported leave to withdraw on petition of John Lovejoy, The same gentleman from the Committee on the Judiciary to which was referred a Bill entitled "an act for the appointment of Justices of Trials," referred from the last to the present Legislature, reported that legislation is inexpedient - The same gentleman from the same Committee to which was referred a Bill to provide for an Auditor and Comptroller of the Treasury, made a report asking to be discharged from the further consideration of the subject, severally read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Bill defining the time on which public Statutes shall take effect, reported by the Committee on the Judiciary, was read once, and Monday next at eleven o'clock, assigned for a second reading.
