On motion of Mr Boutelle, Ordered that Messrs. Boutelle, Cogswell and Keith be a Committee to enquire into the expediency of modifying or repealing the 14th Rule in the Rules and Orders of the Senate.

On motion of Mr Hamlin, Ordered that the Messenger be directed, under the direction of the President of the Senate to provide suitable accomodation for the different Reporters.

The Secretary of State laid on the table a written Message from the Governor, which was read and sent down.

On motion of Mr Scammon, Ordered, that the Joint Standing Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of providing by law, that no person shall become a member of any Parish without the consent of both the person and the Parish.

On motion of Mr Warren, Ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of providing by law that in all actions of Trespass and actions of Trespass on the case, to be hereafter commenced the declaration shall be to all intents and purposes equally valid, whether it shall be in form a declaration in trespass or in trespass on the case. Read and passed. Send down for concurrence.

Bill additional respecting the qualification of voters in town affairs, read once and Saturday next at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading.
