Bill providing for the appropriation of the annual tax upon the Skowhegan Bank was read a second time and amended. And the question of passing said Bill to be engrossed as amended, being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays, was decided in the affirmative as follows, to wit: Yeas. Messrs. Allen, Bridgham, Cobb, Chandler, Farnham, Farnsworth, Groton, Kelsey, Pease, Pierce, Porter, Prescott, Smith and Williamson - 14. Nays. Messrs. Bradbury, Howard, Labaree, Manning and Tobin - 5. Sent down for concurrence.

Resolve for the benefit of the Maine Wesleyan Seminary was read the second time, and the question of passing said Resolve to be engrossed, being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays, was decided in the negative as follows, to wit: Yeas. Messrs. Brown, Cobb, Farnham, Farnsworth, Groton, Labaree, Pierce, Prescott, Smith and Williamson 10. Nays. Messrs. Allen, Bradbury, Bridgham, Chandler, Howard, Kelsey, Manning, Pease, Porter, Rogers, and Tobin, - 11. On motion of Mr. Bradbury, the Senate reconsider the vote refusing said Resolve a passage, amend the same and pass said Resolve to be engrossed as amended. Sent down for concurrence.
