Petition of Joseph Kendrick, a Coroner, to be reimbursed for taking inquisitions upon several dead bodies in the County of Penobscot; read and referred to the Committee on Claims in concurrence.

Petition of sundry inhabitants of Lincolnville for the preservation of Pickerel deposited in several ponds in the said town; read and referred to the Committee on Interior Fisheries in concurrence.

Resolve in favor of George Brooks was read a second time, and ordered to lie on the table.

Mr. Knowlton was appointed on the Joint Select Committee on the alteration of the law relating to the inspection of Stone Lime and Lime Casks, in lieu of Mr. Cogswell, who is absent.

The report of the Committee on State Lands to which was recommitted their report on the petition of the Penobscot Tribe of Indians, (laid upon the table last Monday) was taken up, and the question of accepting said report, being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays, was decided in the affirmative, as follows, to wit. Yeas, Messrs. Allen, Bradbury, Brown, Farnsworth, Frye, Howard, Kelsey, Knowlton, Labaree, Manning, Pease, Porter, Rogers, Smith, Tobin, & Williamson - 16. Nays, Messrs. Emmons, Farnham, Groton, Pierce, and Prescott, - 5.
