Duties - - approve all rules and regulations governing State institutions; investigate and inspect the system of public charity and correctional institutions; examine condition and management of prisons, jails, reform schools, industrial schools of a charitable or correctional nature, children’s homes, hospitals, sanatoriums, almshouses, orphanages, hospitals for the insane, or homes for the feeble-minded.
