The standing Committee on Elections were nominated by the Speaker and appointed by the House as follows

On Elections Messrs. Jewett of Portland " Hinkley " Bluehill " Woodman " Buxton " Hyde " Bath " Moore " Dover " Morrill " Belgradge [Belgrade] " Bolster " Rumford

The Committee appointed to contract with some person to perform the duties of Messenger and Page reported that they had engaged William C. Fuller of Winthrop and on motion of Mr. Brackett of Falmouth the report was amended by striking out William C. Fuller of Winthrop and inserting Thomas Baker of the City of Portland which was read and accepted as amended

The Committee appointed to draft Rules and Orders for the government of the House the present session made a report which was read and accepted

On motion of Mr. Webster of Belfast Ordered that the Clerk of this House cause four
