Communication from John H. Jarvis, Counsellor elect, signifying his acceptance, read and sent down.

Bill additional to an Act to incorporate the Portland Mutual Fire Insurance Company, reported by Mr Cogswell from the Committee on Banks & Banking was read a first and second time, and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Mr Farnsworth from the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals, reported order of notice on petition of J. Eaton and others. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Petition of C. Sawtelle, Register of Probate for Somersett County, for an increase of Salary, read and referred to a select Committee consisting of Messrs Emmons and Farnsworth with such as the House may join. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred and the House join on their part the delegation from the County of Somersett.

On motion of Mr Groton, ordered that Messrs Groton and Cobb be a Committee, with such as the House may join, to enquire what printed blank forms are needed by the several Committees of the Legislature to enable them to complete their reports with uniformity and despatch, and to procure the same at the cost of the State. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred, and Messrs Marshall, Bronson and Pike are joined.

Mr. Pease from the Committee on Division of Towns reported order of notice on petition of Jere. Paul, which was read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
