Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of repealing an act, entitled "An Act enabling the owners of Meeting Houses to manage the same" passed March 3d, 1826. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

On motion of Mr. Groton, ordered, that the Committee on Parishes be directed to enquire whether it be expedient to enact a law authorizing the proprietors of old Meeting houses, unoccupied for religious worship, to sell the same, with the land attached to them, provided three fourths of the persons in interest so decide. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

On motion of Mr. Farnsworth, ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of altering the law for the punishment of persons guilty of cutting away Booms and Rafts, with leave to report by Bill or otherwise. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Mr. Farnham from the Committee on Literature and Literary Institutions to which was referred the order relative to embodying into one act, all the laws relative to schools, made a report that, further legislation is inexpedient, and asked to be discharged from any further consideration thereof. Read & accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

The Committee on Banks and Banking to which was referred the petition of the Portland Marine Rail way Incorporation, made a report, which was read and accepted in concurrence.
