The Committee to whom was refused the enquiry whether there are any members absent longer than they are allowed by the rules & orders thereof, reported that many members are absent and that the roll of the House be called - the report was accepted and the roll of the House called accordingly by which it appeared that fifty members were not in their seats.

The Committee on engrossed Bill reported as truly engrossed Bill - An Act to incorporate the Maine Episcopal Missionary Society - which was passed to be enacted, and the question was taken by yeas and nays and decided as follows yeas 78_ nays _54. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - to set off a part of Pittsfield & annex it to the town of Hartland, was read a 1st & 2d time and ordered to lie on the table.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as truly engrossed Bill - An Act to incorporate the West Branch Room Corporation - -An Act additional to an act to incorporate the Calais Rail Way Company -An Act creating the village of Augusta into a corporation for certain purposes - which were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - An act additional concurring pounds &c came from the Senate referred to the Committee on agriculture for concurrence - & the House concurred.
