Wednesday, January 20, 1836.

Order from the House of Representatives instructing the Committee on State Lands to inquire & report the probable number of Officers and Soldiers, and Widows of deceased Officers and Soldiers of the Revolutionary War, entitled to receive grants of land under the Resolve passed March 7, 1835, and the number of acres of land which may be required therefor, read and passed in concurrence.

On motion of Mr Jarvis, the Senate reconsider their vote of yesterday, whereby they ordered one thousand copies of the Report of S. H. Long on a Reconnoisance for a Rail Road from the coast of Maine to Quebec, and order that three thousand copies of the same be printed for the use of the Legislature. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Order from the House of Representatives, directing the Committee on State Lands to inquire into the expediency of so far changing the Resolve passed March 17, 1835, in favor of certain Officers and Soldiers of the Revolutionary War, that each officer and soldier that enlisted for the term of three years or during the War and were honorably discharged and the widows of the same, be entitled to the benefits of the Act, read and passed in concurrence.

Order from the House of Representatives, requesting the Committee on Parishes to inquire whether any amendments of the law in regard to Parishes are expedient, read and passed in concurrence.
