The report of the Conferees on a disagreement of the two Houses on the "Bill to regulate the execution of the punishment of Death," laid on the table the 2nd inst. was taken up and accepted. Sent down for concurrence.

Resolve in favor of William D. Williamson, Nathaniel Clark and Joseph R. Abbott, Commissioners of State Prison came up from the House referred to the Committee on Claims. The Senate nonconcur the House in their reference (the Committee on Claims being discharged on the part of the Senate) and refer the Resolve to a Joint Select Committee, consisting on the part of the Senate of Messrs. Staples, Talbot and Kelsey, with such as the House may join. Sent down for concurrence. Came up and Messrs Woodman, Maxwell, Rollins, Tabor, Gage, Bunker, and Chase are joined in concurrence.

Resolve in favor of John Hodsdon came up from the House referred to a Joint Select Committee consisting of Messrs Fletcher of Thomaston, Holmes of Alfred, Hunt of Gorham, Foster of Pembroke, and Potter of Augusta, with such as the Senate may join, with instructions to ascertain the expenses of the Land Department and the propriety of depositing all moneys or notes arising from the sale of land in the hands of the State Treasurer -- read an referred, and Messrs Kelsey, Merrow and Talbot are joined in concurrence.
