Camp Convalesant Near Alexandria, Va Dec 9, 1862

General J.L. Hodgson Dear sir I now take this Opportunity to write you A few lines I am in the Convalesant Camp and Have got the Kidney Compaint so I never Shall be fit for duty Again and as this is A Disagreeable Place for A man to Be in that is in my situation I should like to get out of it as soon Posable [possible] and if you would send me my Discriptive List you Will Oblige me William H. Hutchins
