Castine June 18 1862 Hon I Washburn Jr Dear Sir I read a letter from my son Charles a few day since he visits he had Bath -er have a [ ] Lieut place in the 16th Reg. Than have the place [we ask?] for him in the D Reg for the Reason I suppose there would be no hard feeling created by his having a place in the 16th. But I suppose he cannot get a place in the 16th unless I can get some Recruits which I think is impossi -ble Yours Respectfully John Bridges
