Governor Washburn

Sir, having been in the service in the Second Maine Regt. for fourteen months and honorably discharged from the same, I wish to enlist again for the purpose of seeing the end of this Rebellion and restoring peace to this once happy nation. I think that I am capable of holding a commission in the volunteer service if I cannot get a commission I shall enlist as a private
