I write you for the purpose of making some enquiries in relation to the son of a man, with whom we are both probably well acquainted, which perhaps you will remember before I close this brief note.

In the first place, do you remember the old "Bangor Light Infantry?" Do you remember the Aroostook War, and the memorable campaign through which we passed; - which far surpassed anything that the present generation has gone through during the last three years? Do you remember the crowd of boys with whom we used to associate and among them, one by the name of "Palmer" who was formerly connected with the Post Office at Bangor?
