Order from the House of Representatives, instructing the Committee on the Militia to inquire into the expediency of so far altering the 21st section of the Militia law, passed March 8, 1834, as to extend the time holding Reviews until the 15th of October - read and passed in concurrence.
Bill altering the time of the term of the Supreme Judicial Court and Court of Common Pleas in the County of Lincoln came up from the House committed to the Committee on the Judiciary - read and committed in concurrence.
Bill to incorporate the Waldoborough Lime Burning Company (laid on the table by Mr. Merrow) read once, and Monday next, at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading.
Bill additional to an act to incorporate the Casco and Kennebec Canal Company (reported by Mr. Clark from the Committee on Rail Roads and Canals, on petition of Levi Cutter and others) -"- to provide for the education of Youth (reported in the House by the Committee on Literature and Literary Institutions, on an order relative to revising the School Law) severally read once and Monday next at eleven o'clock assigned for a second reading.
Bill to incorporate the Newport Manufacturing Company (reported in the House by the Committee on Interior Waters on petition of William Martin and others) was read twice and passed to be engrossed in concurrence.
