28 on examining the ballot it appeared that Isaac lane, Mark Harris, Joshua Gage, James McLellan, Ebenezer Williams, James Collins & Thomas Vose Esq were duly elected -

[Secretary of State chosen] The convention also proceeded to ballot for a Secretary of State - when on a return of the ballots it appeared that Ashur Ware Esq. was duly elected. The business of the convention being accomplished, the Senators withdrew.


[sundry petitions] Petitions of the inhabitants of Hebron that the doings of said town may be made valid - of Tofford Durham and others for leave to sell a certain meeting House in Belfast for the benefit of the Proprietors - & of John Heddian for a new trial in an action brought against him by Asa Keith - were severally read and referred to the committee on new trials. Sent up for concurrence.

[sundry petitions.] Petitions ofr the Inhabitants of the Westerly part of the town of Frankfort to be annexed to Munroe & if Samuel Davis to be set off from Harrington and annexed to Steuben - were severally read a referred to the committee on the Incorporation of Towns. Sent up for concurrence.

[-ditto-] Petitions of Samuel Brown praying for a grant of land in Surry - & of James Treworgy for a grant of one hundred acres of land; were severally read and referred to the committee on the State Lands. Sent up for concurrence.


[ditto] Petition of Caleb Huse & others for an alteration in the School Law - read and referred to Messrs Gray, Weymouth and Marsh.
