221 Afternoon. Met according to adjournment.
Bill - abolish C.C. Pleas On motion of Mr Currier of Readfield the House again resolved itself into a Committee of the whole - Mr Smith of Wiscasset in the Chair, on "An Act to abolish the Circuit Courts of Common Pleas, transfer the powers thereof to the Supreme Judicial Court and to establish nisi prius and law terms to be holden by the said Supreme Judicial Court": and after some time spent therein Mr Speaker resumed the Chair when Mr Smith in behalf of the Committee re-ported the Bill without amendment which was Read a third time and the further consideration thereof postponed till Friday next at 10 oclock.
Adjourned till 9 oclock tomorrow morning.
