[Notice to Gov'r of the election of M. General 6 Divis.] On motion by Mr. Holland - Ordered that the Secretary of State be directed to inform the Governor that the two branches of the Legislature have elected Brigadier General Alden Blossom - Major General of the sixth division of the Militia agreeably to the provisions of the Constitution.

[Report of Committee respect'g Clerks of Courts] Mr. Pierce from the Committee to whom was referred the subject of receiving or altering the law providing for the appointment of Clerks of the Courts - reported that it was not necessary to legislate on the subject at that time. Report read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence - Came up concurred.

[Report] [Bill] Mr. Bond from the Committee appointed to consider that subject reported a Bill entitled An Additional Act respecting the Supreme Judicial Court - which was read & committed to the Committee on Bills in the second reading - and monday next at ten o'clock assigned for the second reading.

[Report on Committee on Congress. Districts] Mr. Green from the Committee to whom was referred the message of the Governor relative to dividing the State into districts for the choice of Representatives to Congress - reported that under the existing laws there will be no occasion for an extra session of the Legislature - and that it is not expedient to adopt any measures in relation to districting the State or prescribing the mode of electing representatives to Congress at the present session of the Legislature. Report read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence - came up concurred.

The Senate adjourned to Monday next at 10 o'clock.
