I have the honor to inform you that there is a little difficulty existing between myself & Major Gardiner. The Maj. thinks he has sufficient cause to compell my resignation or send me to my Regt. under arrest for taking a fee of a soldier for procuring him a Town bounty when it was at the option & offer of the recruit and also of his father.
