John Bridges Castine June 7 Asking discharge of his son --

                              Castine June 7 1861
                              Dear Sir I have a son in
                              Company B 2D Reg. VMM
                              who enlisted as he supposed for
                              3 months while 2 mns gon to 
                              Augusta as the Extra Lesiure
                              and went to Bangor and
                              did not want to back
                              out and put his name
                              down for 2 years and wanted
                              him to sign for 3 years at
                              N York but he did not
                              so sign and he does not
                              like the Drinking of the field
                              officers and he has got uneasy
                              and would like to ask a
                              Discharge and come home
                              Please write me whether
                              you can and will do anyth
                              ing for him or not
