206 [1822 Feb. 6] Resolve on the pay roll of the House of Representatives - Resolve fixing the place for the next meeting of the Legislature - and for other purposes - Resolve appropriating money for the payment of the engrossing clerks - Resolve providing for Indices to the Journals of the Senate and House of Representatives - Resolve appropriating two hundred dollars to provide fuel for the use of the Legislature and Public Offices of this State - Resolve making an advance out of the State treasury for printing - Resolve respecting State Colors and Musical Instruments - Resolve on the pay roll of the Senate - Resolve for the payment of accounts against the State - and a Resolve making an appropriation for contingent expenses - [Vote of thanks to the President] The President of the Senate, having at the request of Mr Bradbury left the chair to the Secretary - the following order was read on motion of Mr Bradbury - and passed unanimously - to wit - Ordered that the thanks of the Senate be presented to the Hon. Daniel Rose for the assiduous, faithful and impartial discharge of his duties, as their presiding officer - and the Senators embrace this opportunity to tender him their best wishes for his continued usefulness as a public man - and his prosperity and happiness as a private citizen - [Presidents reply -] The President resumed the chair and replied as follows “Gentlemen of the Senate ; The vote of approbation by this board is an ulogium on my endeavors to discharge the duties of the station in which I have been placed, which I could not have expected to receive had not the urbanity and indulgence off every individual member of the Senate rendered my duty comparatively easy to what it otherwise have been.
