Dear Sir,
Will you be so kind as to obtain a copy of the Description Roll of my company (D) of the 2nd Regt. V. M. M. I have not had one because the morning before the regiment left Bangor, Gen. Buster hained it of me with the promise of a copy but failed to give me one.
I have written several times to get [?] and if you will be so kind to get one for me and send the bill of whatever expense it may be you will greatly oblige your Obedient Servant, Capt. J. S. Sampson commanding Co. D. 2nd Regt. V. M. M.
