2nd Regmt Maine [Meartost Corcoran] July 31, 1861

L.H. Eaton Dear Sir We want the [disccription] Roll of those men that I enlisted at Old Town. I gave it to you + I understood that you did not finish the copy of that or your own - My roll was laid upon a shelf at the room where the clothing was distributed at the arsenal - Shepley + Mayville have desented - also John Spaulding whose father living in main street Bangor - Strickland has left no Roll - please tell L Morse or Gel Hodson if you see them In haste [Yours] Sam. W. Hoskins
