[Convention for senators] At ten O'clock the two Houses met in Convention for the purpose of filling the vacancies in the Senate. The whole number of votes to fill the vacancy in Cumberland was [underscore] one hundred and [end underscore] fifty three[underscored], necessary to a choice [underscore] seventy seven [end underscore], Robert L. Dunlap had [underscore] one hundred and eight [end underscore] and was elected.

The whole number of Ballots to fill the vacancies in Lincoln was [underscore] one hundred and fifty five [end underscore], necessary to a choice [underscore] seven eight [end underscore], Jonas Wheeler Esq. had [underscore] one hundred and fifty five [end underscore], Joel Miller Esq. had [underscore] one hundred & seventeen [end underscore], and Parker McCobb had [underscore ninety one [end underscore], and they were severally elected.

The whole number of votes to fill the vacancy in Somerset, was [underscore] one hundred and fifty four [end underscore], necessary to a choice [underscore seven eight [end underscore], John Read Esq. had [underscore] one hundred and fifty two [end underscore], and was elected.

[Secretary order'd to notify Senators] On motion of Mr. McDonald ordered that the Secretary of State be directed to notify Robert P. Dunlap, Jonas Wheeler, Joel Miller, Parker McCogg and John Read, Esquires that they have been severally elected Senators by both Houses of the Legislature, to supply the vacancies in their several Senatorial Districts, agreeably to the provisions of the Constitution; and to request their immediate attendance to aid the Senate in the discharge of their public duties.
