The Board came to order pursuant to adjournment.

Mr. Stebbins from the Committee on the Judiciary, on the petition of Nathan Elden Jun and Edward S. Hovey for admission as Attorney, reported that proper provisions have been made by a general Law on the subject and, therefore special legislation in these cases is not requisite and expedient. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence Came up concurred,

Mr. Stebins from the same Committee reported leave to withdraw on the petition of the Proprietors of the Falmouth Canal. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.

Bill additional providing for the government of the State Prison and for the punishment of convicts came up amended and the Senate reconsidered their former vote, adopted the amendments proposed and passed the same to be engrossed as amended in concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the Penobscot Manufacturing Company came up referred to the next Legislature and the Senate reconsidered their former vote and concurred with the House in the reference,

Mr. Scamman from the Committee reported the Bill additional to "An Act concerning the assessment and collection of taxes," and the same was read a second time and passed to be engrossed as amended in a
