Mr. Scamman from the Committee on Engrossed Bills, reported the following to be truly copied viz. Bill to apportion and assess on this State a tax of Forty nine Thousand nine hundred and ninety one Dollars and ninety seven cents, Bill additional to promote the sale and settlement of public Lands, and Bill additional regulating Judicial Process & proceedings, and the same were severally passed to be enacted and also Resolve respecting Clerk hire in the office of the Secretary of State and for other purposes and Resolve in favor of Seward and Charles Merrill and the same were finally passed
