Saturday, February 2nd, 1828

Petition of Isaac Illsley Agent for a cession of jurisdiction to the United States of Little Mark Island was referred in concurrence to the Committee on the Judiciary. [right]


Petition of Inhabitants of Thompson Pond Plantation that part of said plantation may be annexed to Otisfield and part to Poland and Remonstrance of the town of Unity against the petition of Nathaniel Noyes and others were referred in concurrence to the Committee on Parishes.

Petition of David H. Patterson and others for an incorporation with powers to erect a bridge across Kennebec River was referred in concurrence to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals.

Petition of John Warren and others of the town of Hiram for aid in regard to the education of youth was referred in concurrence to the Committee on Literature + Literary Institutions.

Mr. Herrick from the Select Committee appointed by order of January 10th reported Bill regulating weights and the same was read once, Tuesday 10 o Clock assigned for a second reading and 200 copies ordered to be printed.

Mr. Miller from the Committee on Parishes +c on the petition of Roger Merrill and others, reported Bill to incorporate the Proprietors of the Brunswick Tontine Hotel and the same was read and ordered to a second reading, again read and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence, " on petition of Joseph Leighton reported Bill to set off Joseph Leighton from Westbrook to Falmouth and the same was read once, ordered to a second reading, again read and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.
