Met according to adjournment.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the Secretary of State to notify Joseph Howard, John S Kimball & Obed Wilson that they have been constitutionally elected, in convention of the two Branches of the Legislature Senators for the State of Maine for the current political year, and to request their immediate attendance at the Senate Board – and the House concurred.

Charles Hutchings Junior of Orland presented his credentials, was qualified and took his seat as a member from the Representative Class of Penobscot & Orland.

Mr Speaker,

The Senate propose a convention of both branches in the Representatives Chamber at 10 o clock this forenoon for the purpose of filling the vacancy of a Senator from the County of Hancock occasioned by the resignation of Mark Sheppard, and inform the House that the Constitutional candidates are Samuel M Pond who had three hundred and fifty seven votes and Samuel Whitney who had two hundred and eight five votes.

The Senate also propose a convention at the same place at a quarter past ten o clock this morning for the purpose of electing seven Counsellors and a Secretary of State – The House concurred in forgoing propositions and requested the Clerk to acquaint the Senate therewith

Joseph Adams Esq of Cherryfield presented his credentials was qualified and took his seat as a member.
