38 The speaker laid before the House a communication from the Secretary of State transmitting the returns made to his office by the Sheriffs of the several Counties, in pursuance of the order of the House of yesterday, which with the accompanying papers were referred to the committee last mentioned.
Sundry depositions taken at the request of Samuel Doe Esqr to be used for the purpose of disproving the allegations set forth in the Memorial of Moses Pelton presented yesterday, were presented and on motion referred to the committee who have under consideration said memorial.
