An order came from the Senate for concurrence instructing the committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of altering or amending the laws defining the general powers of Manufacturing Corporations – and the House concurred.

Ordered that the committee on the Judiciary be directed to take into consideration the expediency of providing by law some method by which the interests of individuals in any meeting house not the property of any parish or corporation may be regulated for the benefit of all concerned – read and passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Remonstrances of James Harvey & als - – of Selectmen of Lisbon - – of John Coffin & als - –of John Sampson & als - all against a division of the town of Lisbon - were severally read & referred to the committee on the incorporation of towns. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the Kennebec Manufacturing Company, reported without amendment, was read a 3d time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

The House resumed the consideration of the report of the committee to whom was referred the Resolve in favor of Josiah Towle, and accepted the new draft and passed the same with an amendment at P to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Report on the petition of John Marble & als granting an order of notice came from the Senate accepted for concurrence and the House concurred.

Mr Eveleth of Windham has leave of absence after Monday next for the remainder of the session.
