[1824] [Report on Petition] Petition of Mellen Chamberlain was taken from the files and referred to the Committee on New Trials. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.

[Bill] Bill to incorporate Ligonia Lodge, was read a 2nd time and passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the House.

[Resolves] Resolve for the relief of the town of Minot and Resolve confirming the doings of the town of Cornish, was severally read twice and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.

[Bill] Bill giving further power to Bridge Corporations was read once and committed to Messrs. Miller, Campbell and McCobb, and tomorrow at 10 O'clock assigned for 2nd Reading.

[Committee on Compensation to a Committee] On Motion of Mr. Wheeler, ordered that Messrs. Wheeler, McDonald and Read be a committee to enquire what compensation ought to be allowed to committee appointed under a Resolve of the Legislature Feb'y 1823, to purchase a site for the State Prison, with leave to report by bill or otherwise.

[Abstracts of returns Banks ordered] Mr. McDonald from the Committee on Banks &c. reported that the Secretary of State procure to be printed for the use of the Legislature 200 Copies of the Abstract of the several returns of Banks in this State, which have been returned to his office and submitted to this Legislature. Read, accepted and sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.
