Met according to adjournment.

On motion of Mr Swan of Portland, Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary be directed inquire, whether any alterations are necessary in the law passed March 1821 entitled "An Act respecting Engine men, Fire Engines, & the extinguishment of fire" with leave to report by Bill or otherwise read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr Swan of Portland, Ordered That Messes Swan of Portland, Kent of Bangor & White of Monmouth be a committee, to consider, and respect by Bill or otherwise, such provisions for the regulation of the navigation of the Cumberland & Oxford Canal, and for the protection of said Canal, and other property, as they may find necessary - read and passed.

On motion of Mr Chandler of Calais, Ordered, That a message be sent to the Senate, requesting them to take from their files of the last year, the petition of Joseph Whitney & others & transmit the same to this House - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr Smith of Nobleboro', Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of so for amending the law respecting highways, that Courts of Sessions may be authorized to cause a part of the expenses for building and repairing highways through incorporated plantations to be paid by the County whenever it shall be deemed reasonable & proper - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence
