State of Maine.

To all persons whom these Presents shall come,

Greeting:

Be it known, that John Chandler, Esquire, of Monmouth, on the tenth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three, was constitutionally elected by the Legislature, a Senator, to represent this State in the Congress of the United States, for the period of six years, commencing with the fourth day of March, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty three, according to the provisions of the Constitution:

Given under our Seal. Witness Albion K. Parris, Esquire, our Governor, at Portland, the seventeenth day of January in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty three; and in the forty seventh year of the Independence of the United States of America.
