State of Maine.

To all persons to whom these presents shall come,

Greeting:

[to the left is a circle with "Seal." inside it and "Enoch Lincoln” written under it]

Whereas, before Samuel Wood, Esquire, one of the Justices of the Peace, in and for the County of Kennebec, on the twenty eight day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one Isaac Taylor, of Winthrop in our said County of Kennebec Laborer, was convicted of the Crime of Larceny, and thereupon by our said Justice, was sentenced to pay a fine of one dollar, to be disposed of as the law directs; and also for the money stolen, a further sum of one dollar and twenty five cents; together with costs of prosecution taxed at five dollars and thirty eight cents, which sentence has been complied with, and he the said Isaac Taylor has humbly supplicated Us for mercy

Now Know Ye, that upon full consideration of the premises, We do hereby grant to him the said Isaac Taylor, a full and free Pardon of the Crime aforesaid, of which all our Judges, Justices, Magistrates and Officers of every denomination are to take notice

Witness Enoch Lincoln, our Governor, with the advice and consent of our council, and our Seal hereunto affixed at Portland, the twenty first day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine; and in the fifty third year of the Independence of the United States of America.
