State of Maine.

To all persons to whom these presents shall come.

Greeting.

Whereas, before our Supreme Judicial Court begun and holden at Paris, within and for the county of Oxford, on the third Tuesday of May, being the twentieth day of the month, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight Jonathan Fellows Jun. late resident of Rumford, in our said county of Oxford, laborer, was convicted of the Crime of having in his custody and possession, certain false, forged and counterfeit Bank Bills or promisory [promissory] notes, with intent to pass the same, and thereupon by our said Court was sentenced to be punished by confinement to hard labour [labor] in our State Prison, at Thomaston, in the County of Lincoln, for the term of one year, and he the said Jonathan Fellows Jun. has humbly supplicated Us for mercy:

Now know ye, That, upon full consideration of the premises, We do hereby remit to him the said Jonathan Fellows Jun. that part of the punishment aforesaid which yet remains to be executed; of which all our Judges, Justices, Magistrates and Officers of every denomination are to take notice.

Witness, Enoch Lincoln, our Governor, with the advice and consent of our Council, and our Seal hereunto affixed, at Portland, the twelfth day of February, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine; and in the fifty third year of the Independence of the United States of America.
