To all persons to whom these presents shall come.
Greeting.

Whereas, before our Supreme Judicial Court begun and holden at Wiscasset, in and for the County of Lincoln, on the Third tuesday of September, being the eighteenth day of said month, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven: Thomas Reed, of Bowdoinham in our said county of Lincoln was convicted of the crime of Forgery, and thereupon by our said Court was sentenced to be punished by confinement to hard labor in our State Prison, at Thomaston in the County of Lincoln, for the term of four years; and he the said Thomas Read, has humbly supplicated Us for mercy:
Now Know Ye, That, upon full consideration of the premises, We do hereby remit to him the said Thomas Reed, that part of the punishment aforesaid which yet remains to be executed; of which all our Judges, Justices, Magistrates, and Officers of every denomination are to take notice.
Witness, Enoch Lincoln, our Governor, with the advice and consent of our Council, and our Seal hereunto affixed, at Portland, the second day of March, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine; and in the fifty third year of the Independence of the United States of America.
