State of Maine.

To all Persons to whom these Presents shall come.

Greeting:

Whereas, before our Curt of Common Pleas, begun and holden at Bangor, within and for the County of Penobscot, at the October term thereof, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six Daniel Lovell, of Bangor, in our said county of Penobscot, Blacksmith, was convicted of the Crime of Larceny and thereupon by our said Court was sentenced to be punished by solitary imprisonment for the term of thirty days, and by confinement afterwards to hard labor for the term of three years, in the State Prison situate in Thomaston, in the County of Lincoln, and he the said Daniel Lovell, has humbly supplicated Us for mercy.

Now Know Ye, That upon full consideration of the premises We do hereby remit to him the said Daniel Lovell, that part of the punishment aforesaid which yet remains to be executed upon him, by solitary imprisonment; of which all our Judges, Justices, Magistrates, and Officers of every denomination are to take notice.

Witness, Enoch Lincoln, our Governor, with the advice and consent of our Council, and our seal hereunto affixed, at Portland, the thirtieth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine; and in the fifty third year of the Independence of the United States of America.
