A message was received from the House requesting the Senate to send down the Report of the committee on petition of the President and Directors of the Cumberland Bank : and the papers were sent down.-

[Bills]

Bill to organize, governor and discipline the Militia of this State was taken up, read and committed to the committee on the militia &c for amendments.-

Bill to cede to the United States of America the jurisdiction of Baker's Island, passed to be engrossed in the House, came up for concurrence, and was read once and committed, and Monday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 2d reading.-

[Report on Petition]

Mr. Usher from the committee on petition of Jacob Goodwin and als. reported that they have leave to bring in a Bill : Read, accepted and sent down for concurrence.-

[Bill]

Bill providing for the government of the State Prison, was taken up, read a 2d time and passed to be engrossed : sent down for concurrence.-

Mr. Chandler from the committee on an order upon that subject, reported a Bill additional respecting the Inspection of Beef Pork &c. which was read once and committed and Monday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 2d reading.-

Mr. Read from the committee on that subject reported a Resolve for opening a road north of the million acres; which was read once and committed, and Monday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 2d reading.-
