Petition of Alfred. Y, J. Y. Lithgow & of Auld M Colb Brpwn praying for authority to change their names were severally read and referred to the committee on change of names.

Petitions of Og. M Daniel & Job Sylvester 3 praying for authority to change their names. Were severally read referred to the committee on change of names.

Bill for the preservation of the beeches & salt marshes in the town of Wells, reported by the committee on the petition of Joseph Gilman, was read 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3rd reading.

Petition of Thomas Newman & als, to be incorporated as an Engine Company, was read and referred to Messon Fillebrown of Winthrop Butterfield of Sidney& Mayhew of Newthanon.

Bill addition to the act to regulate the Jurisdiction & proceeding of Courts of Probate, was taken up and referred to Messon abbot of Cistine, Ames of bath, Pong of Bucksport, Alden of Brunswick & Goodenow of Alfred.

Resolve for purchasing Greenleaf Reports was read a second time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Bill to incorporate the Kennebunk Port Distillery, reported by the committee on the petition of Simon Nowell & als, was read a 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3rd reading
