(126) Saturday 20th February 1830

The Senate met according to adjournment. [Pet. of Maine Wesleyan Seminary] Petition of the Maine Wesleyan Seminary, praying for pecuniary aid, was read and referred to the Joint standing Committee on Literature and Literary Institutions, Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

[order relative to an act to establish a C.C.P. and Real actions] Order of the House of Representatives, that the Joint Standing Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire as to the expediency of modifying or repealing a part of the 2d Section of an act entitled "an act to establish a Court of Common Pleas"; and also as to the expediency of repealing the 2nd Section of "an act additional to an act for the settlement of certain equitable claims arising in real actions", was read and concurred. [Order relating to towns & Town Meetings] (also) That the same Committee be instructed to inquire into the expediency of an alteration in the First Section of the Law entitled "an act regulating Towns and Town Meetings and the choise of Town officers" passed 19th MArch 1821
