Agreeably to assignment the House proceeded by ballot to the election on their part of a Major General of the first Division of the Militia of this State - The whole number of votes given in was One hundred and thirty four - necessary to a choice sixty eight Brig Gen William Waterman had One hundred & three and was declared elected on the part of the House.

Bill respecting Lotteries, was taken up & indefinitely postponed--

Bill - to repeal an act entitled an act to repeal certain provisions of an additional act respecting the Inspection of Beef Pork, Butter & Lard, & for other purposes was read a third time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill additional act respecting Hogshead Shooks, reported with amendments which were adopted, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed an amended. Sent up for concurrence.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence, discharging the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals from any further consideration of the prayer of the prayer of the petition of John Dole & others and referring the same to the joint committee on Lotteries & the House concurred.

Report on the petition of John Black & others, granting leave to withdraw came from the Senate accepted for concurrence and the House concurred.

Resolve establishing the seat of Government, was read once, and Tuesday next at 10 oclock assigned for a second reading 200 copies ordered to be printed for the use of the members.
