Monday January 29th 1827

Met according to adjournment.

Bill to incorporate the town of Abbot, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Resolve in favor Elijah Butler Junr, was read a second time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Bill additional to an act establishing the times of holding the Supreme Judicial Court within this State, was taken up and referred to the members of the Judiciary Committee on the part of the House.

Petition of the Selectmen of Milo for a grant of land to aid said town, was read & referred to Messrs Nickerson of Orrington, Emery of Monroe & Peaslee of Whitfield.

Remonstrance of William Pope & als of West Machias, against the petition presented the present session praying for an alteration of the name of said town, was read & referred to the committee on the incorporation of towns. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill to incorporate an Engine Company in Winthrop, was read a third time & passed to the engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of the Selectmen of Monson that authority may be given the administration on the estate of Lot Rider Jun to convey certain land, to the baptist Society in said town, was read & referred to the committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.
