 A Communication has been received from the Governor of Louisiana, melosing a Resolution of the General Assembly of that State, passed the 4th of February last, proposing "that the Constitution of the United States be so amended, that the President and Vice President shall hold their offices for the term of Six years, and that the President shall be ineligible afterwards." The Governor of the State of Georgia has transmitted sundry Resolutions of the General Assembly of that State concurring with the proposal of the States, the privilege of voting directly for the President and Vice President, without the intervention of Elections," and recommending" that the election of President and Vice President should in no case whatever be submitted to the decision of the House of Representatives of the United States."
