Friday January 18th 1828

A communication was received from the Revd Ichabod Nichols, D.D. signifying his resignation of the office of of Chaplain of the Senate in consequence of his previous accept- -ance of the same office in the House of Representatives [right margin] Communication from Rev I Nichols resign- ing the office of Chap lain

Mr. Miller from the committee on Parishes +c on the petition of William Quint and others reported, Bill to set off a tract of land from Emden to Anson. Read once and to- morrow at 10 oclock assigned for a second reading. [right margin] Rept on pet of Wm Quint +als. Bill to set off a tract of land from Emden to Anson

On motion by Mr. Cushman the Senate assigned this day at 11.o clock for the purpose of balloting for the choice of Chap- lain. [right margin] Time assigned to choose Chaplain

Orders of the House of Representatives, that the committee on Interior Fisheries be instructed to inquire into the expedi- -ency of amending or repealing the existing Laws relating to the Herring Fisheries
