Petition of Jacob Bigelow in behalf of the Massachusetts Medical Society to be relieved from the payment of certain taxes, was read & referred to the committee on the Judiciary in concurrence with the Senate.

Petition of Jonathan Whiting & als & report thereon, came from the Senate referred to the next Legislature for concurrence & the House concurred.

Bill - revoking the charter of the Kennebec Bank, reported by the Committee on Banks & Banking, was read 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3rd reading, and thereupon on motion of McCobb, it was Ordered, that the report of the committee be published in the Eastern Argus for the information of the public.

Ordered that the joint standing Committee on the Judiciary be directed to inquire, whether it be necessary to take any further measures in relation to the purchase of a public Standard of Weight and Measures for the use of the State &c - read & passed - Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - to incorporate the Kennebunk Water Power Manufacturing Company, was read a 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3rd reading.

Bill - to incorporate the Kennebunk Port Distillery, came from the Senate, that body refusing to concur the House in their proposed amendments - and the House voted to recede there - from and to pass the Bill to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate
